Anthony “Tony” Julio Obituary

Anthony “Tony” L. Julio II, 83, of Herndon, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Evangelical Community Hospital. Tony was the widower of Lyndell (Wertman) Julio who passed in 2019. Born on December 8, 1941 in Scranton, he was a son of the late Anthony and Juele (Jordan) Julio.

Tony proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy. He worked at the former Lee Foods in Berwick before beginning a long career as a USDA Food Inspector, retiring in 2003. In retirement, he continued working at Wehry Meats and Schaffer Venison Farm for several years. He attended St. Patrick Church in Trevorton. Tony was a Corvette enthusiast who enjoyed car and gun shows, and he had a passion for collecting military memorabilia. He loved swimming, spending time at the pool, a good cigar and looked forward to weekend breakfasts with friends. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Tony will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Celeste Ferster (Doyle) of Dornsife; son, Anthony L. Julio III (Stacy Brauer) of Dornsife; grandchildren, Jordan (Michael) Smith-Porter and Kolby (Skyler) Smith; step grandchildren, Whitney (Kevin) Kopec, Aaron Ferster, Haley Brauer, and Cody Brauer; great grandchildren, Hayes, Penelope, and Delaney.
