Francis “Fran” A. Bankes

Francis “Fran” Albert Bankes, 79, of Pocono Lake, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026. Fran was the beloved husband of Joyce (Keiper) Bankes sharing over 36 years of marriage. Born on October 5, 1946 in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Lewis and Edna (Seltzer) Bankes. Fran was a 1964 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and a 1967 graduate of the former Williamsport Area Community College. 

Fran was the longtime owner of B.F.B. Construction, a business he took great pride in building and running for many years. Outside of work, he found joy in snowmobiling, relaxing with a cold Coors Light, and spending countless hours tinkering in his garage.

Fran is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Crystal Werkheiser and her husband Zachary; stepdaughter, Heather Schiffbauer and Colin Chin-A-Loy; stepson, Bryan Nuss and his wife Jaime; grandchildren, Grace, Cole, Kyle, Bryce, Conor, Tanner, and Karter; great-grandson, Sairys; sister, Mary Ann Bankes; brothers, Lawrence and Robert Bankes and his little buddy, Buddy the dog. 

A Celebration of life will be held on June 5, 2026 at 4:00 PM at Murphy's Loft, 5102 PA-115, Blakeslee, PA 18610.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Foust Funeral Home, LLC, Trevorton. A memory tribute may be placed at www.foustcares.com.
