Gail G. (Duren) Sowersby

Gail G. (Duren) Sowersby, 63, of Trevorton, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026 at her residence, where she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Eric D. Sowersby, who passed away in 1998. Born in Ashland on September 23, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Miriam (Harter) Duren.

Gail honorably served in the United States Army. She worked as a secretary at the Federal Correctional Institution Schuylkill for over 20 years until her retirement. Gail enjoyed reading western novels and watching western movies. Her children meant everything to her, and she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren during retirement, as they brought her the greatest joy.

Gail will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Shane Sowersby, and Deric Sowersby and his wife Andrea; a daughter, Dezerae Billig and her husband Dustin; grandchildren, Jazmin, Josilyn, and Bodhi Billig; brothers, Lee Duren, and Barry Duren and a sister, Pamela Duren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles Duren Sr., and Bryne Duren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Foust Funeral Home, LLC, 841 W. Shamokin St. Trevorton with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Citizens Cemetery, Lavelle. A memory tribute may be placed at www.foustcares.com.
