Gordon Andrew Slodysko, 86, of Washington D.C. formerly of Trevorton passed away on October 8, 2025. Born on January 12, 1939 in Shamokin, PA he was a son of the late Leon and Norma C. (Kuhns) Slodysko.
Gordon was a graduate of Trevorton High School. After graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he began his career as a court reporter. At age 21, he joined the U.S. Army and served for three years as a personnel specialist in Hawaii. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Washington, D.C., continuing his work as a court reporter, including 19 years with the Federal Courthouse. In total, he dedicated more than 40 years to his profession as a court stenographer. Gordon was a proud member of the American Legion. He had a love for music and enjoyed playing the organ. A passionate toy train collector, he was a longtime member of the Train Collectors Association for over 25 years. He also enjoyed traveling and was a regular patron of the MGM Casino in Virginia.
Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his two nephews, Jamie Gasiewski and his wife Joan and Barry Gasiewski and his wife Celestia; a niece, Deena Lesher and her husband Kerry; several great and great great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, M. Diane Gasiewski.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Foust Funeral Home LLC, 841 W. Shamokin St. Trevorton with a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Trevorton. A memory tribute may be placed at www.foustcares.com.
