James A. Wiest, 84, of West Cameron, passed away on January 18, 2025 in the care of Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehab Center. James was the beloved husband of Madeline (Lenig) Wiest sharing 57 years of loving marriage. Born on April 4, 1940 in Dornsife, he was a son of the late Elwood Wiest and Helen (Kahler) Specht.
James was a skilled finish carpenter who worked for Zartman Construction for many years before retiring. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. James was a devoted member of Bethel Union Chapel, West Cameron. He loved spending his time hunting and fishing.
James will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Madeline; daughters, Michelle Pancher, and Jamie Fisher and her husband Christopher; grandchildren, Cassidy Deppen (Tony), Robert Pancher, Brock Pancher, Lexa Fisher, Laura Fisher and Trace Fisher; great grandchildren, Cassius Deppen and Arrayah Deppen; sister, Deborah McClain (Patrick); brother, Robert “Bing” Wiest. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ruth Dawson and Shirley Miller.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Foust Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St. Trevorton with a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service, officiating pastor David Butler. Burial will follow at Northumberland Memorial Park.
