James "Jim" Brown Obituary

James “Jim” F. Brown, 85, of Herndon, passed away on February 10, 2026 at his residence. Jim was the beloved husband of Darlene (Feger) Brown sharing over 60 years of loving marriage. Born on October 20, 1940 in Urban, he was a son of the late Ralph and Eva (Bohner) Brown.

Jim was a 1958 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School and proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a construction supervisor, first for Thomas H. Ross Construction and later for Hepco Construction, until his retirement. Jim was a faithful member of Himmel’s Church in Dornsife and an active member of the American Legion in Mandata, the Herndon Fire Company, the Klingerstown Fire Company, and the Gratz Antique Machinery Association. He enjoyed attending the Penn’s Cave Tractor Show and Market and, above all, cherished the time he spent with his family at gatherings.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Darlene; sons, Michael Brown, Matthew Brown, and Mitchell Brown; brothers, Rev. Raymond Brown and his wife Louise, and Dennis Brown and his wife Darlene; a sister, Betty Smith and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Sarah Burkey, and Martha Hepner.

A memorial will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Foust Funeral Home, LLC. Trevorton, Ryan G. Foust, supervisor. A memory tribute may be placed at www.foustcares.com.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Jim’s memory to Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, 1473 Urban Rd, Herndon, PA 17830 or to Himmel's Church, 107 Covered Bridge Rd., Dornsife, PA 17823.
