Linda E. Tonnesen, 81, of Trevorton and formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2025 in the care of Nottingham Village. Born on June 4, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of Oskar and Gudrun (Pedersen) Tonnesen.
Linda was a member of Teamsters Local 814 and worked her entire career at Sotheby’s in New York City before retiring in 2004. She was a devoted member of 59th Street Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, NY and the Sons of Norway, Faerder Lodge #3-243, where she took great pride in celebrating her Norwegian heritage. Linda had a deep love for animals and cared for her rescued pets with kindness and compassion. She will be remembered for her warmth, dedication, and the joy she brought to those around her. She held a deep commitment to her Norwegian values and Lutheran upbringing.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her cousin, Ester Hall, her dear friends, Tara Kluge, Vera Krapf and her daughter Christina, and all who knew her. She was predeceased by the dogs she so loved Rusty, Belle and Angel.

Linda’s final loving wishes were that donations be made in her memory to the Sunbury Animal Hospital S.A.F.E. fund at the Sunbury Animal Hospital, 3920 State Route 890, Sunbury, PA 17801. All donations in her memory will be greatly appreciated by the animals being helped.
