Robert "Bobby" Shipe Obituary

 

Robert J. Shipe, 41, of Shamokin PA, passed away Monday, December 29th, 2025 at his home.

Born in Ashland on May 10, 1984 to the late Robert M. Shipe and surviving Patricia A. Shipe. Robert was a 2002 graduate of Shamokin Area High School. He attended Johnson & Wales University earning an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts in 2004 and also earning a Bachelor's Degree in Food Service Management in 2006. 

He worked various culinary jobs over the past 25 years spanning from Rhode Island, New York and locally in Pennsylvania. He truly enjoyed his passion for the culinary industry by refining everywhere he went with his progressive and innovative thinking. His passion extended into his personal life where he did much of the cooking for many large gatherings to fill his home with the warm aromas of his legendary meals.  

He was also an active member of Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic church where he served as an altar server during childhood and continued practicing throughout his life. His beliefs helped shape his life choices to be a kind and forgiving person. 

Bob loved the outdoors, he was an avid sportsman. He loved being in the woods or near a stream. He was thoughtful, patient and persistent in the woods where he honored his winnings by turning them into delicious meals.

Bob is survived by his mother, Patricia Shipe of Coal Township, his brother Andrew Shipe, wife Michelle Bossler and nephew Owen Shipe of Port Orchard, WA, Grandmother Jean Shipe of Sunbury, PA. He was also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his father, Robert M. Shipe; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Gisela Polyniak; paternal grandfather, Robert L. Shipe; and an uncle, Dan Polyniak.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church, 303 N Shamokin St, Shamokin, PA 17872 with a visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass. Arrangements have been entrusted to Foust Funeral Home, LLC. Trevorton, Ryan G. Foust, supervisor. A memory tribute may be placed at www.foustcares.com.
