Sterl F. Latsha

Sterl Frederick Latsha, 89, of Selinsgrove, formerly of Dornsife, passed away on December 30, 2025 at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital. He was the widower of Rachel (Kauffman) Latsha, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage before her passing in 2020. Born on March 8, 1936 in Dornsife, he was a son of the late Frederick and Alda (Snyder) Latsha.

Sterl was a 1953 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School. He worked for Klock’s Feed Mill and Paulson Wire Rope before spending many years as a machinist at AMP in Selinsgrove until his retirement. He was a faithful member of Himmel’s Church in Dornsife and a life member of the Herndon Fire Company. Sterl was an avid Phillies fan and, above all, enjoyed spending time with his family.

Sterl will be lovingly remembered by his son, Carey Latsha and his wife Kris of Selinsgrove; grandchildren, Megan Jackson and her husband Shaun, and Brett Latsha and his wife Francesca; great grandchildren; Genevieve and Bennett Jackson; sisters, Dolores Mertz, and Betty Lou Jones. He was predeceased by his son, Stan Latsha; grandchildren, Gabriel and Christopher Latsha; siblings, Margaret Gessner, Laverne Latsha, Marqueen Buffington, John Latsha, and Roger Latsha.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Himmel's Church, 107 Covered Bridge Rd., Dornsife, PA 17823 with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service with pastor Rick White officiating.
