Terry L. Snyder

Terry Lee Snyder, 87, of Herndon, passed away at his residence on April 10, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Dawn (Lenig) Snyder, sharing over 64 years of loving marriage. Born on April 6, 1938, near Pitman, he was a son of the late Elwood and Pauline (Herring) Snyder.

Terry graduated from Mahanoy Joint High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. He worked as a carpenter for Novinger Construction in Harrisburg for over 35 years before retiring. Terry was fluent in Pennsylvania Dutch. He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hunter Station. He was a lifelong member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and a founding member of the Ten Dutchman Camp. He enjoyed playing Euchre and Pinochle and was a big sports fan, always cheering for Line Mountain, Penn State, NY Yankees, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He coached Rebuck Little League and umpired for the Herndon area Slow Pitch Softball League for many years. Terry also loved gardening and was always complimented as having the finest garden in PA!  You could find him spending time at Klinger’s coffee club on Saturday mornings. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.

Terry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dawn; children, Lana Hoover and her husband Dale of Dalmatia, Dwight Snyder and his wife Michelle of Mechanicsburg, and Cami Bingaman and her husband Brad of Halifax; grandchildren, Vanessa Miller, Mason Hoover, Mackenzi Bingaman, Madison Howard, Mallori Bingaman, Natalie Snyder, and Zachary Snyder; great grandchildren, Willow Miller, Briar Miller, Grace Hoover, George Hoover, Graham Hoover, and Hayes Howard; sister, Doris Kehler. He was predeceased by his siblings, George Snyder, Shirley Hess, and Craig Snyder.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11:30AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 5933 Rt 225, Shamokin, Pa 17872 (Hunter Station) with a viewing from 9:00AM until the time of service with Rev. Michael Jarrett officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Foust Funeral Home, LLC. Trevorton, Ryan G. Foust, supervisor. A memory tribute may be placed at www.foustcares.com.
