Thelma M. (Lenhart) Dobson

Thelma Mae (Lenhart) Dobson, 94, of Lower Augusta Twp., passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at her residence. She was the widow of Herlin Welker and John A. Dobson. Born in Tharptown on May 9, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Mae (Rubendahl) Lenhart.

Thelma was a 1949 graduate of Sunbury High School. She worked for Streets Poultry and later at a sewing factory in Shamokin until her retirement. Thelma was a former member of the Rebekah Club and the Garden Club, and she served as a Boy Scout Den Mother for many years. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, visiting the casino, and playing scratch-off tickets. Thelma was also talented in crafting, enjoying crocheting, knitting, woodworking, and painting.

Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her children; Bonnie Bowman and her husband Robert, Linda Wendt and her husband Robert, Randy Welker and his wife Lorraine, and Rick Welker and his wife Denise; brother, Douglas Lenhart and his wife Patricia; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Herlin Welker Jr.; step children, Barbara DeHart and John Dobson Jr.; brothers, Elwood Lenhart Jr., James Lenhart, and Eugene Lenhart.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Foust Funeral Home, LLC, 841 W. Shamokin St. Trevorton with a viewing from 10:00 AM until the time of service, with Pastor Dan Lepley officiating. Burial will follow at Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
